Characteristics: It is a white crystalline powder. Soluble in water, chloroform and acetone etc.

Uses: It is mainly used for synthesis of anticonvulsants Topiramate. In addition, it is also used as starting materials for synthesize of natural compounds with glycosidase inhibitory activity and anti-cancer activity such as Castanospermine, Talaromycin A and B. It is used for synthesis of diacetone β-D-fructose derivatives, such as 1-deoxy-1-halogenated-D- 2,3:4,5-diacetone fructose, 2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructo-hexodialdo-l,5-pyranose,1-benzoyl-2,3:4,5-D-diacetone fructose, 2,3-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructose,1-methyl-2,3:4,5 di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructose, etc. and fructose derivatives such as 2-deoxy-3,4:5,6–di-O- diacetone-D-arabino-3-heptulos-3,7-pyranose,1,4,5- and 3,4,6- tri-O-methyl fructose, 1-deoxy-1-halogenated fructose,D-psicose, etc. And used for synthesis Amadori compound, deoxy-halogenated-sucrose, hexosephosphates, Di-β-D-fructopyranose,O- and S- linked glucosidofructose, poly(-O-methacryloyl-β-D-fructose),and biodegradable polymer as bolaform and Gemini surfactant.
